Entertainment

With over 25 years of experience in themed entertainment design, we have been involved in premier projects large and small across Australian and Internationally.

theme Park MASTER PLAN

In association with Atomiq Design, we worked with a medium sized theme park to develop a long term development strategy that would maximise the use of their available land.  Included in the planning strategy was a staged development that would increase revenue in line with financing required for the next stage's construction.

SegaWorld, Sydney

Segaworld Sydney is an indoor theme park featuring simulation theatres, an indoor roller coaster, and other rides based on Sega video game technology. The theme is the past, present, and future. Many disciplines were required to design this facility including architecture, interior design, multi media design, technical design, lighting design, and audio design. Mark Buczynski and Renato Franchescelli led this multi disciplinary team from design development through completion. Fogg Productions designed and produced the lighting which transformed the spaces with theatrical magic.

THE Illusionarium

In association with Atomiq design, we designed and produced this walk through attraction for Aussie World on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. It is a multi room experience based on optical illusions using some classic theme park and film production techniques.

Fox Studios, Backlot

Fox Studios Backlot is a themed destination located at Fox Studios Australia. The attractions were designed by overseas companies, and we were contracted to perform all of the on site art direction and graphic production. We also designed a number of the periphery areas including the re creation of some famous television show sets.

Whitewater World, Dreamworld

Whitewater World is a new state of the art water park at Dreamworld in Queensland, Australia. We contracted design services to Atomiq Design Group who were lead designers on the Park. The design features unique shading devices, and layered mural work on most of the buildings. The economical materials chosen allowed a maximising of the design budget while still providing a top quality finished product.

Foxwoods Cinetropolis

Foxwoods Cinetropolis is an entertainment precinct in the largest grossing casino in the world. It includes a showroom, simulation theatre, 360 degree screen theatre that converts into a night club, a virtual reality ride, video arcade, retail, and cafe all surrounding a themed public area. As Design Director at Iwerks Entertainment, Mark Buczynski directed teams of designers through concept, design development, and completion.

The Gardens of Granada

Contracted to Blue Sky Entertainment, Los Angeles, as project architect, we coordinated a team of international designers and artists to develop this design. Set on a tropical lagoon, the resort features a 5 star hotel, casino floor, shopping arcade, boat dock, and entertainment centre.

Burwood RSL

As a highly successful RSL, Burwood wanted a unique, ever changing gaming area environment. We developed a 9 video screen central element inset in a fibreoptic star field ceiling. Colour changing LED lighting and hidden moving lights combine with lasers and audio to create hours of changing, choreographed multi media shows. In addition, when a jackpot is hit, lasers and lights focus on the winner while a purpose made video plays on the screens letting everyone know who is the winner.

Edinborough Castle Hotel

This heritage listed pub required a cost effective design that had a modern feel, yet retained the character of the historic interior. A team effort with Fogg Productions, the segregated bar area was made into one versatile space. Custom designed light fittings create a different ambience from day to night. Lunch time business increased dramatically, and the evenings attracted the younger crowd while making the long time locals still feel at home.

Lucky's Ocean Lounge

A simple gaming area of a hotel, Lucky's has a nautical theme and utilises simple design components to create a look that appears much more expensive than the budget. Simple lighting techniques by Fogg Productions create the underwater feel through colour and movement.

Forrestville RSL

With two columns in a predominant position in the new gaming lounge, Forrestville RSL wanted a treatment quick and on a small budget. Using the Forrestville area as a theme, these tree like internally lit elements were designed, presented, documented, fabricated and installed in 3 weeks and on budget.

Suntec City Fountain of Wealth

The Fountain of Wealth is the largest fountain in the world. We designed and installed a multi media show including a 30 metre water screen, four full colour laser systems, surround sound audio, intelligent lighting, and a show control system. As show producer for Oracle Laser Productions, we designed a number of the shows as well as the overall system concept.

Casino, Macau, China

The brief for this concept was to create a casino gaming floor around a pirate theme. The main table area includes a stage integrated into the themed facades.Various hidden stages are included around the space to allow a number of theatrical tricks to add to the visitor's experience.

Burwood RSL Water Feature

The external fountain outside the Burwood RSL transforms from a placid daytime water feature into a dynamic light show when the sun goes down.Colour changing lights are integrated inside the fountain and shine through pans of water to create an ever changing light show on the side of the building.
